An underrated song by a band that sadly are no longer around….
It’s been announced that Scotland will soon be introducing gay marriage, the first country in the United Kingdom to do so. Naturally it is being opposed by the Catholics and the Church of Scotland, while everyone else welcomes the change.
I have friends who are in same-sex relationships, and this can only be a good thing. I’m not religious and I am willing to listen to anyone’s point of view. I’ve never had an issue with gay people; it shouldn’t be looked down on to want to express one’s love for their partner.
I hope the rest of the UK becomes as open-minded and follows suit. People are naturally opposed to change, but it needs to be embraced rather than forced.
I can’t say I’m a fan of One Direction, but I was pleasantly surprised by this cover by the always fantastic Piano Guys….
You just have to love Cookie Monster….
The past week or so has been quite interesting.
I managed to score a 4 month placement/internship working with Opera Scotland. It also looks like I’ll be starting up a collaborative design blog with graphic design, illustration, fine art and textile students where I’ll be bringing my web design/development chops to the table. And I’m also working on a new site for a local monthly folk music night event.
Admittedly I know very little about Scotland’s opera scene, so a fair amount of research will need to be carried out, and it will be interesting to see what focus and direction the design blog will go in.
All this will no doubt keep me occupied going into the beginning of my final year at university, where I’ll be preparing to start my Honours project in January/February – instead of doing my project/dissertation throughout the year I only get 12 weeks, simply focusing on research-based subjects in the first semester.
